Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña, through its Academic Vice Rectory, held the UNPHU Teaching Gala 2022, chaired by its top authorities, the rector, Architect Miguel Fiallo Calderón, and the Architect Raúl De Moya Español, president of the Dominican University Foundation Pedro Henríquez Ureña, who presented the recognitions to the awarded professors.
At the event, 45 members of its academic team were recognized, in the areas of teaching performance, teaching research and long career. In particular, the work of the teacher Leonor Cavallo was recognized for her career of 56 years, high performance and seniority, who received the maximum award, including a metallic prize. Likewise, Daniela Franco de Guzmán was recognized for her extensive experience, who was Academic Vice-Chancellor until 2021 and is the current Secretary of the Academic Council of the institution.
The words of welcome were offered by the rector and the words on behalf of the teachers were given by professor Mayra Altagracia Sánchez Cabral, who has 53 years in the institution.
After the award ceremony, the UNPHU International School of Contemporary Music and its Big Band, composed of students and professors from the school, delighted those present with their performances. At the end of the activity, a DJ was on hand to entertain the evening, thanks to the sponsorship of Red Bull.
