Ambassador of Italy visits UNPHU

Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU), received the visit of Mr. Ambassador Stefano Querolo Palmas and Ms. Manuela Frencia, cultural officer of the Embassy of Italy. 

They were received by the rector, Architect Miguel Fiallo Calderón and Aldo Erazo, Director of International Relations, at the Rectory of the university.

During their visit, the representatives of the Italian Embassy took a tour of the entire campus, being able to appreciate the infrastructure, the wide green areas and all the valuable academic offer offered by this house of superior studies. The purpose of the visit is to explore possible avenues for collaboration between the two institutions.

About the Italian Embassy in Dominican Republic

According to the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of April 18 1961, the functions of the Embassy are to represent Italy before the Dominican Republic, to protect the interests of Italy and its citizens, to the extent permitted by international law, to negotiate with the Government of the Dominican Republic, to inform itself, by any lawful means, of the conditions and developments in the Dominican Republic and to inform the Italian State, to promote friendly relations and to develop economic, cultural and scientific relations between Italy and the Dominican Republic.
