Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU), in coordination with the Dominican Embassy of Israel, presented Alpha and Omega Co, a global leader in developing technological devices to combat the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. The presentation was given by Engineer Reem W. Younis, co-founder of the company.
During her speech, the engineer explained that the company was founded in 1993, following the death of her father from Parkinson’s disease. She said one of the company’s main goals is to help people with neurodegenerative diseases, and that these devices reach as many people as possible.
Alfa and Omega currently have presence in the US, Europe, China and Israel.
The event was attended by the Ambassador of Israel in the Dominican Republic, Danny Biran; Josefina Pepín, Vice-Chancellor of Research, Linkage and Internationalization; Dr. Claudia Scharf, Director of the UNPHU School of Medicine, and Aldo Erazo, Director of International Relations.
The university thanked the Dominican ambassador in Israel, Ernesto Torres Pereira, and Rebeca Lagares, the consular director of the university, for their valuable efforts in carrying out this activity.
About Speaker Reem W. Younis
She is a Civil Engineer at the Israel Institute of Technology, with a degree in Business Administration from the University of Haifa.
In 1992, she started Alpha Cad Limited in Nazareth, offering computerized solutions for engineers, architects and contractors from the Arab and Palestinian communities.
In 1993, she incorporated Alpha Omega Engineering Nazareth, a company dedicated to the creation and development of medical devices, where Ms. Younis works as an Engineer and is dedicated to accompanying the management staff to develop the company and its products around the world.
In 2003 she incorporated Alpha and Omega Co. in Atlanta, USA, helping to establish the Company’s Marketing and Sales department. In addition, it collaborated with the establishment of the Accounting Department, including all cost procedures and other accounting processes.
She is member of C200, an institution dedicated to inspiring, educating, motivating and ensuring the progress of current and future women entrepreneurs and business leaders.
