Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU), its Faculty of Architecture and Art, and the School of Design; celebrated the Day of the Dominican Designer, with a conversation with the professor Architect Angela Bernal, who has dedicated herself to scenographic design; Yomaris Alcántara, who talked about her experience in residential design and Architect Elizabeth Sosa, who showed off her landscaping work on foreign film sets.
The UNPHU School of Design was the first to be launched in the country, in 1966, with an Interior Design and Decoration program. In 2014, is transformed into a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, said the director of the School of Design, Architect Constantinos Ph. Saliaris B.
The Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Arts, Architect Luis Omar Rancier, offered the words of welcome to those present.
In the activity, awards were given to professors who obtained the best averages in the evaluation of teaching performance January-April 2022, and to students with outstanding grade point average.
On July 12, the celebration continued, with a conversation with the Pamela Alcántara, Architect Camila Yaryura, and Michelle Garcia, who spoke of their experiences undertaking in the field of interior design.
