Graduate UNPHU Feniosky Peña Mora is named dean at Tecnológico de Monterrey

The distinguished graduate of Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU), Feniosky Peña Mora, was appointed as dean of the School of Engineering and Sciences of the Technological Institute of Monterrey, a private university of Mexico with its main headquarters in Monterrey, Nuevo León. 

Feniosky Peña was chosen for his academic and professional background in the field of engineering.  He has served as a professor and researcher at multiple institutions. He is the author and co-author of more than 230 academic publications and holds six patents. His research specialty topics include information technology support for the collaborative design and development of large-scale civil engineering systems. 

He was also dean of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Columbia University and associate provost at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. He has led infrastructure projects as executive director of the Center for Buildings, Infrastructure and Public Spaces at Columbia University, and has made major contributions as commissioner of the New York City Department of Design and Construction.

His role as dean will begin on July 1, 2023.

Throughout its 80 years it has consolidated itself in the training, research, and incidence in these disciplines and in the last five years, they have been integrated and strengthened under the umbrella of the School of Engineering and Sciences.
