Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU) and Insuco Dominican Republic, with which the university has an alliance agreement; in coordination with the Center Mipymes UNPHU, held the closing ceremony of the Training Program in the framework of the realization of needs diagnosis, design of methodology and accompaniment to entrepreneurs of Boca Chica. This program was sponsored by the European Union, through the inter-agency initiative Inclusive Cities, Solidarity Communities, implemented by the United Nations agencies UNHCR, IOM and UN Habitat.
The goal of the program was to provide the administrative and financial tools that allow them to develop and innovate their enterprises. The methodology was carried out for two months, during which the participants followed the intervention of different experts in entrepreneurship from the different training topics. They also benefited from personalized consultancies, where each entrepreneur could work based on their needs.
The words of welcome were given by Josefina Pepín Ubrí, vice-rector of Research, Linkage, and Internationalization Projects; while Giselle Deñó, director of Insuco country, spoke about the importance of the program. The participants presented the pitch to those present, and then proceeded to the delivery of certificates. Finally, Lucía Argüellova of the European Union and Gumercindo Vásquez of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) closed the event.

On Inclusive Cities, of Solidary Communities
Inclusive Cities, Solidary Communities is an inter-agency initiative between UNHCR, IOM, UN-Habitat, and the European Union that seeks to reduce the vulnerabilities of refugees and migrants and increase the resilience of host communities in six Latin American and Caribbean countries.
In the Dominican Republic, the cities in which this initiative is implemented are Boca Chica and San Cristobal where a group of 53 entrepreneurs have received support through these training and accompaniment programs.
