Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña, became the setting in which the manual of inclusion and other aspects of social responsibility were presented: A model to follow; this being the first manual on the subject, prepared by a higher education institution, in this case, by the Institute of Higher Education in Diplomatic and Consular Training (INESDYC).
The manual is aimed at making any public and private institution, school, university, hospital or diplomatic headquarters, an inclusive institution. Seven foundations participated in its creation, and it is based on national and international laws, regulations and resolutions governing the implementation of inclusion in all aspects of society. More than a handbook and the six chapters that make it up, it aims to be a practical guide for institutions seeking to become an inclusive institution.
Present at the university were Dr. Josefina Pepín-Ubrí, Vice-Chancellor of Research, Linkage, and Internationalization Projects; Architect Omar Rancier, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Arts; Adrián De Oleo, Dean of Student Welfare and Dr. Dolly Martínez, Director of Environment and Natural Resources. On behalf of INESDYC, Dr. José Rafael Espaillat Muñoz, rector and ambassador; María Agramonte, in charge of the Extension Division of the Academic Vice-Rectory; Elizabeth Fondeur, in charge of Communications; and Julio Altagracia, in charge of Protocol. Personalities from other higher education institutions and UNPHU itself also attended.
At the end of the event, Vice-Rector Dr. Josefina Pepín-Ubrí presented to Dr. José Rafael Espaillat Muñoz, Rector of INESDYC, a volume of the Green Book of Environmental Events, which reflects the environmental work of the university, carried out through the Forums of the Dominican University Foundation Pedro Henríquez Ureña.
This activity was organized by the Directorate of Environment and Natural Resources and was held in the Conference Room of Building 3, first floor.
