Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña its Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences and its School of Law; in coordination with the Center for Research and Training in Electoral Justice and Democracy (CICJED), held the workshop Proceedings in Electoral Justice, with the participation of Gregorit José Martínez Mencía, assistant to the Magister Rosa Pérez de García, Chief Judge of the Superior Electoral Court of the Dominican Republic (TSE).
The activity was aimed at creating a forum for academic exchange with the students of the university. The basic principles of Electoral Law and the jurisdictional role of the Superior Electoral Court as the highest authority in contentious matters in this field were addressed.
The welcoming remarks were delivered by the dean of the Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences, Dr. Juan Alfredo Biaggi, a judge of the Dominican Republic’s High Court. This activity corresponds to the second meeting as a sequence of a series of talks that the university is doing in coordination with the CICJED.
The event, which was addressed to the entire UNPHU community, was held in the Conference Room of Building 3, first floor, on 29 May 2023, and was broadcast on the UNPHU YouTube channel.
