Professor Dr. Dulvis Dariel Mejía, receives the 2023 Award for Magisterial Excellence, from President Luis Abinader

On the celebration of Teachers’ Day on June 30 of each year, President Luis Abinader presented five outstanding teachers with the 2023 Professors Excellence Award, in recognition of their laudable trajectory in the classroom, commitment and contribution to the academic development of their students. Ten other teachers were also awarded for their Teaching Excellence, by the higher education institutions of the Dominican Republic.

The professor and researcher of Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña, Dr. Dulvis Dariel Mejía, was one of the winners for being an outstanding and excellent academic. The award is based on Decree 122-22, issued by President Abinader himself on March 16, 2022, which created the Regulation of the Annual Excellence Award for Professors of Higher Education Institutions.

Also present at the event were the Minister of the Presidency, Joel Santos; the Presidents of the Dominican Association of Professors, Eduardo Hidalgo; the Dominican Association of Universities, José Alejandro Aybar; and the Dominican Association of Rectors, José Altagracia Hazim. UNPHU, Architect Miguel Fiallo Calderón, and the general director of Culture, Javiel Helena, among others.
