The itinerant Museum of the National Bank of Brains at Universidad Nacional Pedro Henriquez Ureña (BNC-UNPHU) attended the XXI Dominican Congress of Psychiatry, within the XXXIV Central American Congress and the Caribbean of Psychiatry dedicated to the perished doctor María Nerys Pérez Ramirez.
Josefina Pepin, vice-rector of Research Projects, Link and Internationalization, gave the opening words: “UNPHU is highly grateful and with the hope being part of these scientific journeys about mental health, under the powerful optic of Objectives of Sustainable Development (ODS).”
“This itinerant museum is the result of a historical moment that occurred exactly two years ago: the inauguration of the National Bank of Brains of UNPHU, the first brain bank of the Caribbean,” she added.
Dr. Daisy Acosta, director of BNC-UNPHU, delivered two talks. The first is bipolar disorder in the Third Age, and the second is National Brain Bank UNPHU and the Latin-American Net of Brain Banks: Present and Future Implications.
The event was held on September 23 to 26 at the Barceló Bávaro Palace, Punta Cana.
