The University recognizes. Divina Altagracia García Vásquez

Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña and its Department of Management of Institutional Experience and Graduate Management, recognized Divina Altagracia García Vásquez, in the second edition 2022- 2023. This recognition is the highest award that a graduate can obtain, after excelling in the different areas of public and private life, and which enjoys professional prestige.

García Vásquez is a leading professional, characterized by promoting the development and improvement of Dominican families and society in general through education. She is a clinical psychologist specializing in human sexuality, pedagogy, and conflict resolution. She has been collaborating in Najayo Hombres reclusion center for over 24 years, teaching workshops and collaborating with teachers at the center on pedagogical issues. She also provides training for children with autistic conditions and supports various foundations specializing in women with cancer.

The award was given by the rector of the university, Architect Miguel Fiallo Calderón, accompanied by the Director of Institutional Experience and Graduate Management, Laura Veloz. The recognition ceremony took place on February 10, 2023, in the rectory of the university.

About Divina Altagracia García Vásquez

She holds master’s degrees in Sexual Therapy and Systemic Pedagogy combined with training in Middle Management and Supervision, Human Relations, and Leadership. Trained in parental skills, mediation, and development of interpersonal processes. 

For her outstanding professional experience, at the national level, she was recognized by the mayor of Nagua with the merit in honor of María Trinidad Sánchez. She is currently in charge of the Family Guidance and Support Unit of the Community Participation Directorate of the Vice-Ministry of Technical Pedagogical Services of MINERD, collaborating in the design of strategies to achieve the effective involvement of the family and the community in the development and improvement of education through programs aimed at linking schools and the community. She is the author of articles for magazines and national media in the areas of study techniques and habits, strategic plans, operational manuals, and customer service. She is co-founder of the Fundación Crisálida.
