UNPHU and the Center for Combating Blindness Dr. Zato (INCIVI) sign an inter-institutional agreement

Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña and the Dr. Zato Center for Fighting Blindness, Foundation of the Institute of Visual Sciences (INCIVI), signed an inter-institutional agreement with the purpose of conducting joint training, concerning aspects of ophthalmology, especially against blindness.

Among the actions that will be carried out between both institutions are the rotations of teachers and students of degree and postgraduate, and scientific-academic exchanges. The agreement provided for the development of conferences, courses, seminars, diploma courses in continuing education on areas and topics of ophthalmology, as well as national and international training for human resources in continuing education.

The signing was carried out between Architect Miguel Fiallo Calderón, rector of the university and Dr. Herbert Stern Díaz, coordinator of the Center for Fighting Blindness Dr. Zato, INCIVI Foundation; on April 11, 2023. The event was attended by Dr. William Duke, dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Claudia Scharf, director of the School of Medicine and Eduardo García, associate dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences.
