UNPHU and the Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey offer an immersive workshop on applied innovation in education

Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña and Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey of organized the immersive workshop: “Mathematics and Physics on the Move: Innovation applied in the teaching” with the purpose of developing skills that favor good practices in the teaching of these disciplines; as part of a collaboration agreement sustained by both institutions.

During the workshop, teachers of the Faculty of Science and Technology of UNPHU were trained in the application of resources and appropriate active methodologies, favoring the design and implementation of novel classes that favor the motivation and the leading role of students in the construction of their learning.  

The program of the workshop was developed in four modules, with twelve synchronized classes and 47 hours of work, in which contents about the new reality of the student, the didactic immersion in teaching practice, design of educational experiences and the implementation of active methodologies in Physics and Mathematics were addressed. The course was taught with challenge-based learning methods through experiential and participatory activities.

The closure was attended by authorities of both institutions headed by Carla María Lilia Diez de Marina Sauseno, director of International Operation in Tecnológico de Monterrey; by UNPHU, Patricia Matos, academic vice chancellor and Doris Peña, dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology.
