Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña, through its Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences, granted this Thursday, November 30, recognition as “Honorary Professor” to Judge Dr. Milton Ray, president of the Constitutional Court, endorsed by the Sixteenth Act of the Academic Committee of the School of Law, dated November 20, 2023.
The proposal was made to the Academic Committee of the School of Law, in order to recognize him for his contributions to the development of the legal sciences and for his great contributions to Dominican democracy and institutionality, through his functions of state as minister, diplomat, legislator and first president of the Constitutional Court; in addition to his extensive teaching work in the legal area.
This presentation was made as part of the opening of the first Master’s Chair “Dr. Froilán Tavares”, in honor of the former founding professor, director and dean of the Faculty of Political Sciences of the house of high studies.
The inaugural ceremony took place on November 30, at 6:00 p.m., in the Max Henríquez Ureña hall of UNPHU, with the presence of authorities from that academic institution, counting on the presence of relatives of Dr. Froilán Tavares, as well as high court figures, teachers and students.
In this event, the conference “Impact of the creation of the Constitutional Court on the Constitution of January 26, 2010” will be given, which will feature Dr. Milton Ray Guevara as speaker.
