UNPHU celebrates the successful eighth edition of the 2025 of Scientific Research and Technological Innovation Week

Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU), through its Vice-Rector of Research, Linkage and Internationalization and its Research Directorate, successfully hosted the eighth edition of its Scientific Research and Technological Innovation Week, under the motto: “Sowing knowledge, reaping the future”. The event gathered academics, researchers, students, and national specialists around science, technology, and innovation.

During the week, more than 28 academic activities were organized by the seven faculties that make up the university and its Postgraduate School. The program included research hotbed presentations, specialized talks, keynote lectures, webinars, and an exhibition of more than ten scientific posters created by students.

Dr. María Guadalupe Silva, Director of Research at the University, delivered the opening remarks and began the day with the keynote conference titled “Research as an Axis of Transformation in UNPHU.”

Highlights included research on outdoor thermal comfort, natural dyes and urban heritage, lectures on geology, cybersecurity, and the country’s energy crisis, and a webinar on innovative technologies in the agri-food sector. Also featured were presentations on intellectual property and artificial intelligence in tourism, as well as a talk titled «Future of Virtual Justice.» 

Presentations covered primary care, pharmacovigilance, dental clinical cases, artificial intelligence in English language teaching, and national research in beekeeping and the role of artificial intelligence in education.

The week concluded with an exhibition of scientific posters created by students from different schools and research centers, showcasing the results of their academic projects.
