Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU) celebrated World Quality Day 2025 with an institutional day that highlighted ethical leadership, organizational culture, and effective communication as fundamental axes for strengthening institutional performance.
The meeting began with a few words from Ms. Brenda Hazim, Director of Quality Assurance, who stressed that quality goes beyond standards and processes. “Quality is based on people, their values, their commitment and their daily actions,” she said, adding that clear and respectful communication strengthens ties and improves processes.
Speaking at the World Quality Day event, Walter Lendor, Vice-Chancellor of Institutional Development, Quality Assurance and Projects, stressed that in the face of rapid technological change, institutional identity is the guide for the university’s course and emphasized the essential role of ethics as a basis for responsible decisions. Lendor also called for strengthening environmental awareness and the sustainable use of resources.
During the event, the Director of Quality Assurance, Brenda Hazim, highlighted the commitments and objectives of the UNPHU management system and then read the Quality Policy.
As part of the celebration, the UNPHU Quality Award was presented, recognizing this year’s recipients, the School of Medicine and the Deanery of Student Welfare, for their outstanding work in implementing, monitoring, and strengthening the Quality Management System. Both entities demonstrated an exemplary commitment to continuous improvement, process optimization, and service excellence.
This commemoration of World Quality Day was organized by the Vice-Chancellery of Institutional Development, Quality Assurance, and Projects, reaffirming the university’s commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
On this day, Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña reaffirms its mission to promote a strong institutional culture grounded in ethics, innovation, and high performance, and to advance practices that strengthen and sustain the university community.
