Universidad Nacional Pedro Henriquez Ureña (UNPHU), through the School of Pharmacy, held the webinar Quality in the Drugs Manufacture with Miguel Ángel Portillo, Pharmaceutical Chemist, at the technical table of Discussion of the Faculty of Health Sciences. The objective was to reflex on the quality in the manufacture of drugs and the pharmaceutical professional.
Doctor William Duke, dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, welcomed and introduction of the speaker by professor Nicole Ramirez.
During the activity, he emphasized the importance of complying with the quality goals in manufacturing drugs and observing the quality elements composing the good manufacturing practices to laboratories manufacturing drugs and medication for human consumption.
The role of the regulatory and reference entities at the world level regarding quality in the manufacturing of drugs was acknowledged. The importance of having appropriate facilities for production and implementing rules as the good manufacturing practices, engineering and storage, documentation and laboratory, and the validation of Critical Systems and qualification of facilities, equipment, and staff, making the career of pharmacy a profession of highly regulated activities.
