UNPHU holds the Second Master’s Chair Dr. José María Heredia Bonetti

Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU), the Faculty of Health Sciences and its School of Odontology, held the Second Master Chair Dr. José María Heredia Bonetti, “Minimal Intervention in dental decay treatments” by Dr. José Carlos P. Imparato.

The goal of the event was to inaugurate the first Biobank of Human Teeth in the Dominican Republic, located in the School of Odontology at UNPHU, and at the same time, recognize the trajectory, teaching work and contributions to the Research of Dr. Eduardo Khouri Diep, giving this name to the first Biobank, in his honor. Dr. Khouri has been dedicated to the teaching of Root Canal Anatomy with special interest in the area of Endodontics.

In the talk, the Simulator in Endodontics project, sponsored by FONDOCYT at the School of Odontology at UNPHU, by the lead researcher, Dr. Sheila Burdez, was highlighted.

The panel of honor consisted of Dr. José Carlos P. Imparato; Dr. William Duke, dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences; Dr. Rogelio Cordero, director of the School of Odontology; Licda. Claudia Acra, Director of Research; Dr. Eduardo Khouri, Professor UNPHU; Josefina Pepín Ubrí, Vice-Chancellor of Research, Linkage and Internationalization Projects; Dr. Francis Gonzales, Director of Clinic of the School of Odontology; Dr. Sheila Burdez, Principal Investigator and Academic Coordinator of the School of Odontology, and Dr. Guadalupe Silva, Research Coordinator of the school.

The event took place on August 5, 2022, at the Horacio Álvarez Saviñón Auditorium. It was aimed at the entire student community and graduates of the School of Odontology.
