UNPHU International Webinar Diagnosis of Depression and Deficit in Pediatrics with Quality Interrogation  

Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU), through its Faculty of Health Sciences and the School of Medicine, in coordination with the Directorate of Institutional Experience and Graduate Management, gave the International webinar “Diagnosis of Depression and Deficit of Care in Pediatrics with Quality Interrogation” with the participation of Dr. Rosemary Fernández, who is UNPHU graduate and pediatrician in the USA.

The lecturer addressed extensively the Attention Deficit of Hyperactivity Disorder, which is linked to hyperactivity; the most frequent signs and symptoms, family recommendations, origins, as well as existing diagnostic methods and therapies that help improve the condition. 

She also indicated that in recent years, depression and attention deficit have increased. Attention deficit and hyperactivity is one of the most frequent diagnoses in the United States, where 1 in 11 children has this condition that is not healed with medical treatments, but with a series of influences, where intervenes, psychologist, family, teacher and environment.

“In the condition of ADHD and depression it is considered that 90 to 95% improvement of the patient is going to be an intervention with the child and mother that gives him human guidelines,” he said. He also stressed that these children need a structured home.

Dr. Fernández received a certificate of participation from the academy. The moderation of the activity was performed by Dr. William Duke.
