Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU) celebrated on July 24, 2025 its special graduation event at the Auditorium Horacio Álvarez Saviñón, where 118 new graduate and postgraduate professionals received their degrees. The ceremony, organized by the Academic Vice-Rectory, highlighted the crucial role of education in national development.
In the undergraduate category, graduates came from a wide range of disciplines: Architecture, Interior Design, Contemporary Music, Chemical Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, Surveying, Geomatic Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Medicine, Veterinary, Dentistry, Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel Management, Accounting and Auditing, Basic Education, Law, Clinical and Industrial Psychology.
In postgraduate studies, they graduated with a specialty in Project Management and earned Master’s Degrees in Project Management, Management Accounting, Comprehensive Audit, Museum Studies, and Administrative Law and Public Management.
The ceremony was led by Dr. Patricia Matos, the academic vice chancellor, who in her message told the graduates: “Carry this title as a promise: to continue to grow, serve, and build a better country… with ethics, responsibility, and excellence. But above all, with humanity.”
Among the authorities present were Geisha Carpio, Vice Chancellor of Postgraduate and Continuing Education; Architect Omar Rancier, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Arts; Engineer Doris Peña, Dean of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology; Engineer Francisco Sanchis, Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources; and Marisol Ivonne Guzmán, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Education, on behalf of Dr. Leonardo Conde, Dean of the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences, José Gilberto Soto Jerez, Director of the School of Hospitality and Tourism, also attended. María Gonzalo represented the Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences; Dr. Ángela De Angelo attended for the Faculty of Health Sciences; and Yolimar Mejías participated as Director of the Graduate School.
With this event, UNPHU reaffirms its dedication to training professionals who are honest, ethical, and committed to the development of Dominican society, encouraging graduates to apply what they have learned and contribute to the country from their respective fields.
