UNPHU participates in the French Law and Justice Week

Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU), participated in the Week of French Law and Justice, held from November 14 to 17 of this year. The Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences, in coordination with the Embassy of France, gave the conference: “Protection of personal data online” by Florence Lardet, Deputy Prosecutor of the Paris Court, who is a judge and works in the National Jurisdiction of the Fight against Organized Crime, at the Paris Court. She has also worked in the judicial services and led the association of young magistrates from 2015 to 2018.

The speaker addressed topics such as economics and numerical data. He also spoke about how to control the volume of data, keep privacy, how data is used and how to give it value; all this, based on the data valorization strategies used in France and in Europe, which are governed by a law that allows protecting personal data online.

Several lectures were given at different universities in the country. The objective was to reflect and provide a space for exchange in terms of updating legal issues of interest, such as the transparency of public life, the digitization of justice and policies on trafficking of persons and sexual exploitation, among others.

The words of greeting and thanks were dictated by the dean of the Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences, Dr. Juan Alfredo Biaggi, judge of the Superior Electoral Court of the Dominican Republic.
