UNPHU receives researchers from Columbia University in New York

On September 8, 2023, Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU), received a visit from researchers at Columbia University New York, a private university dedicated to research. The group was composed of Dr. Richard Mayeaux, principal investigator of the Genetic Epidemiology Laboratory, Professor Gertrude H. Sergievsky of Neurology, Psychiatry and Epidemiology; Rafael Lantigua, MD., director of the Office of Community Service Programs and Dolly Reyes Dumeyer, project manager; who were received by Recto Architect Miguel Fiallo Calderón.

During their stay, they toured the different campus facilities, including the Center for Operations in Objectively Systematized Medical Simulation (COSMOS), the National Brain Bank – UNPHU, and the different areas dedicated to learning practices in health issues.

The visitors were accompanied by Josefina Pepín Ubrí, Vice-Chancellor of Research, Linkage and Internationalization Projects; Dr. Daysi Acosta, Director of the National Brain Bank (BNC-UNPHU); Dr. José Guillén, Director of Special Projects and Claudia Accra, Director of Research. Dr. Diones Rivera and Dr. Miguelina Pérez, members of the scientific committee of the BNC- UNPHU were invited.
