Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU) received Mr. Rubén Amador, director of the Conservatory of Creative Art of Puerto Rico, who gave a Master’s Clinic to students of the International School of Contemporary Music UNPHU.
Rubén Amador was invited by the Berklee program in Santo Domingo, in which students from the UNPHU International School of Contemporary Music obtained scholarships to study at the University of Berklee in Boston, United States.
The winning students were Ariel Núñez and Adrián Castro, who obtained full scholarships; while Sebastián Astacio, Mia Feliz, obtained partial scholarships; Josmi Helen Feliz Luna and Neufris Pérez, will be in the Five Week program in Berklee (AES/Itabo Full Tuition, board).
UNPHU thanked the Ministry of Culture and the National Academy of Music for organizing the Berklee in Santo Domingo, as well as the Dominican AES, EGE Haina, and the teacher Michael Camilo, who is Doctor Honoris Causa at UNPHU.
‘’The University is committed to making every effort necessary for all its students to achieve success in the music and entertainment industry,” said the engineer Silvestre de Moya, operational director of the International School of Contemporary Music.
On the ‘Berklee’ program in Santo Domingo
“Berklee in Santo Domingo” comes after the cooperation agreement signed by the Ministry of Culture and the Berklee College of Music, the Dominican AES Foundation and EGE Itabo, whose objective is to train many students in different musical areas through training programs offered by the aforementioned American institution.
