The School of Chemical Engineering of Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña see received the certificate of reaccreditation by the Regional System of Accreditation of Engineering of the Greater Caribbean (GCREAS), a private, independent, and non-profit institution dedicated to accrediting the quality of higher education in Engineering in the countries of the Caribbean. This reinstatement confirms the hard work and dedication that the institution has been doing, to meet the high standards of quality in higher education.
Aspects assessed during the certification process included: curriculum, facilities, teacher training, research, and linkage with the chemical industry. This recognition positions us as a leading institution in the education of Chemical Engineering and distinguishes us among the other schools of this specialty in the country. Students will benefit from a comprehensive education in their training and will be able to count on the necessary tools to face the current and future challenges in the field of chemical engineering.
The scroll was delivered by Mr. Hugo Pirela, Executive Director of GCREAS, and received by the Rector at UNPHU, Architect Miguel Fiallo Calderón, who was accompanied by Engineer Doris Peña, dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology; as well as Engineer Maribel Espinosa, director of the School.
