UNPHU School of Education meets with new students

Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU), held a meeting to welcome new students from the Inafocam scholarship program, in the mathematics, physics and chemistry degrees oriented to secondary education.

In the academic period (September-December 2022), 84 students began their training under the guidelines of the 09-15 regulation and underwent the established admission process, passing the POMA and PAA tests. The university makes a process of personalized follow-up to students from their manifestation of the desire to enter the university, encouraging attendance at the different tests, and continues to follow the admission process, ensuring that students have the necessary information to meet the requirements for the scholarship, be admitted to the university and subsequently enter the career.

Due to its commitment to the regulations, the university has a training that prepares students to take the PAA.

The welcoming words of the event were given by the dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Education, M.A. Geisha Carpio, while the director of the School of Education, M.A. José Ramón Suriel, opened the meeting. In the same order, the graduates Yesenia Rodríguez, coordinator of the School of Education and Carmen Florentino, coordinator of teaching practice and internship, addressed the students to explain how each academic period is outlined.

During the event, the director of the School of Education, José Ramón Suriel Fernández, said that “UNPHU is committed to the quality training of future teachers, so that the necessary support processes are developed for students to enter the bachelor’s degrees oriented to secondary education complying with the guidelines emanating from the regulatory institutions.”

The activity took place on October 12, 2022, in the Conference Room of Building 3 of the University.
