The initiative is part of the efforts to provide support for the search for funding for companies led by women in the Dominican Republic
The Ministry of Industry, Trade and Commerce MSMEs and Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña, through the MSME Center UNPHU, launched the Women-Led Business Acceleration Program, which is part of the MSME Women’s Regional Entrepreneurship Program implemented by the Regional Center for the Promotion of MSMEs (CENPROMYPE), with the support of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the support of the Luxembourg Agency for Development Cooperation.
The program will provide skills to 50 female entrepreneurs in the country, in integral areas of personal coaching, training, personalized technical assistance and consulting. It also seeks to add value to the structure of their businesses.
During the launch of the program, was present Josefina Pepín, Vice-Chancellor of Research, Linkage and Internationalization Projects at UNPHU; Dr. Jorge Morales Paulino, Vice-Minister of Promotion to MSMEs of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Commerce MSMEs; Rubí Rafael Breton, director of the Center MSMEs UNPHU; Awilda Florencio, Manager of Innovation and Non-Financial Services, Banco BHD and Miriam González, deputy director of the MSME support service directorate, vice-ministry of MSME development.
The event was held at the Max Henríquez Hall of the university, on April 24, 2024.
