UNPHU Presents Documentary “Hay un País en el Mundo” (“There´s a Place in this World”)

 

Within the framework of the Month of Dominican Identity, the Pedro Henríquez Ureña National University (UNPHU), in collaboration with Producciones Amaru and Banco BHD León, presented the documentary “Hay un País en el Mundo.”

The documentary, produced by José Pintor (Pinky), narrated by experts, describes the natural diversity of Dominican surroundings, with interviews of iconic figures from the Dominican art world.  The documentary also seeks to increase Dominicans´ pride in and passion about our origins, about who we are.

In the documentary the author reflects on our customs, beliefs, history, and values.

Artists who participated in the documentary include Milly Quezada; Sexapeal; Joseíto Mateo; José Virgilio Peña Suazo; Kinito Méndez; Michel; Fefita La Grande; Marijó; La Materialista; Vickinana; Anthony Ríos; Mark B; Krisspy; Pochy Familia; Wason Brazobán; Diomary La Mala; Niní Cáffaro; Rafael Solano, and Roldán.

The film also includes interviews with figures such as Roberto Cassá; Mu-Kien Adriana Sang; Manuel García Arévalo; Dagoberto Tejeda; Xiomarita Pérez; José Del Monte; Huchi Lora; Luis Ovalles; José Antonio Molina; Rafael Solano; José Alcántara; José Rafael Lantigua; Eladio Fernández, and Freddy Ginebra.

The event was held in the Max Henríquez Ureña Hall; among those attending were Licenciada Josefina Navarro, Vice President of Corporate Communication and Social Responsibility of Banco BHD León; Mr. José Pintor, producer; Architect José Constanzo, UNPHU´s Dean of Student Welfare; and LIcenciada Nathalie Almonte, Director of Communications and Marketing for UNPHU.
