ADOFEM Announces International Congress on Medical Education

The Dominican Association and Schools of Medicine (ADOFEM), together with its president, the dean of the area of health of UNIBE, Dr. Marcos Núñez and his Executive Committee, announced the next International Congress on Medical Education, which will be held on March 3 and 4 of this year, with the headquarters of the Rowe laboratories of Santo Domingo. This congress is dedicated to Dr. José Raymundo Jiménez Hernández, in honor of his career in education, past dean of INTEC, advisor and ad vitam president of ADOFEM. 

The congress has as its central theme, comprehensive medical education towards human resources in health and curricula with national and international accreditation requirements. Primary health care, human resource training and postgraduate specializations will also be discussed. 

On the first day, Dr. Franklin García Fermín, Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology (MESCyT), as well as Dr. Daniel Rivera, Minister of Public Health and other personalities who have within their health plan the training of human resources, such as the National Health Service of the Pan American Organization, SENASA, among others.

This event will be supported by the Pan American Federation of Medical Schools and Faculties. International and national speakers with expertise in health will also participate. 

The 11 health sciences faculties of the Dominican Republic, members of the DUFF, and affiliated with the FEPAFEM, are supporting the Organizing Committee (ADOFEM), therefore this event is a success. It will be carried out in a hybrid and face-to-face manner and will be transmitted by Diario Salud.

On behalf of UNPHU will be Dr. William Duke, dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, who is the coordinator of the academic program and in charge of the dissemination of the event.
