Prominent educator José Gabriel Alcántara Almánzar visits UNPHU

Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU) received the visit of Mr. José Gabriel Alcántara Almánzar, writer, educator, narrator, essayist, and literary critic, who accompanied Elvis Soto, collaborator of the Central Bank. Mr. Alcántara was received in the rectory of the University by the rector Architect Miguel Fiallo Calderón and Mr. Alberto Garrido, director of the Department of Letters and Philosophy. 

During his visit, the writer gave a keynote lecture entitled “The Adventure of the Story”, a dissertation on the importance of the story as a literary genre, its transcendence, techniques, guardianship figures and validity.

The lecturer was given a certificate of recognition as a Distinguished Visitor of the university. He received it from the Juana Guerrero, UNPHU teacher, and Alberto Garrido, director of the Department of Letters and Philosophy. 

The activity took place in the Max Henríquez Ureña Hall, building 4, on January 25, 2023.
