UNPHU and ADOZONA join forces for education and research

Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU), and the Dominican Association of Free Zones (ADOZONA), signed a collaboration agreement with the aim of promoting the development of education, research, and training. With this agreement they will be promoting the exchange of scientific, technical, and cultural knowledge at the service of Dominican society.

Among the plans established for its effectiveness are: the management of technical and financial resources, technical programs, undergraduate and postgraduate, scientific research projects, works and academic initiatives jointly in the areas of teaching, research and culture in general. In addition, the limited-time exchange of students, teachers, researchers, and collaborators will be promoted. They will also implement internship, community service and social responsibility programs.

The initialing was carried out in the rectory of the university, on September 27, 2023, between Architect Miguel Fiallo Calderón rector at UNPHU and Mr. Luis José Bonilla Bojos, president of ADOZONA. Also present at the signature by the university, Aldo Erazo, Director of International Relations, and for ADOZONA, Mr. José Manuel Torres, Executive Vice President; Mr. Andrés Noboa, Legal Manager and Mr. Rafael Piantini, Advisor to the Board of Directors.

Rector Miguel Fiallo Calderón, said: “UNPHU has always been committed to academic excellence and cutting-edge research. This agreement will allow us to offer our students unique learning-by-doing opportunities while contributing to the country’s economic and social development.». 

While Mr. Luis José Bonilla, president of ADOZONA, said: “This alliance with UNPHU is a fundamental step with the commitment, training, and development of talent in the free zones; continued: “We are convinced that this collaboration will contribute to the sustainable growth of our industry and the strengthening of education in the Dominican Republic,” he stated.
