UNPHU Architecture Students Win 2nd Place at ADOACERO 2023

Three architecture students from Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña won 2nd place in the ADOACERO 2023 competition, a competition that encourages students to innovate with steel material in a structural and morphological way. The winning students were Celin Sosa, Catherine Valdez and Carmen Oneida Espinal, who were supervised and oriented by the professor and Architect Ramón Méndez. This is the eighth time that UNPHU has won the competition.

The competition aims to promote and encourage complementary actions to academic-pedagogical models of design of innovative architectural ideas, for Architecture students of the Latin American region, using steel as raw material, with proposals that help solve the objectives and goals of the 2030 agenda of the United Nations Organization for sustainable development. 

ADOACERO is the first phase where projects are presented at the local level, therefore the winning team of the first place will then go to represent their project at Alacero 2023, edition that will be held from November 8 to 9 of this year in Transamerica Expo Center, Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The universities that participated this year were: PUCMM, UCE and UNPHU.
