UNPHU holds a welcome meeting for students

Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU), and its Deanship of Student Welfare held the UNPHU Welcome Meeting to new students; as part of the program that favors the adaptation and integration of students to this academic institution.

During the meeting the students were able to learn about the institutional philosophy, the Welfare Policy, and services, necessary to insert themselves into the academic life of the university. With 56 years of foundation, the university has a wide academic offer of undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing education, with a vision of academic excellence, innovation, and research, attached to sustainable development and environmental preservation. The university has global agreements and international accreditations that support quality standards in programs.

The Department of Artistic Activities began the program with a show, with a beautiful and sparkling folkloric dance and later with updated rhythms such as reggaeton and dembow, which imprinted a note of joy and color to the event.

In the activity, the Chancellor, Arq. Miguel Fiallo Calderón, addressed them with words of welcome and encouragement to academic success. This event was attended by the academic vice-chancellor, Patricia Matos, who offered the welcome. Also present were the Dean of Student Welfare, Adrián De Oleo; the Admissions Director, Cristina Taveras, and all the staff of the Dean of Student Welfare.

The welcoming ceremony ended with the presentation of a group of students from the International School of Music, led by one of its teachers, the renowned percussionist Silvestre de Moya.

The event took place on September 2, 2022, in the Horacio Álvarez Saviñón auditorium of UNPHU.
