Universidad Nacional Pedro Henriquez Ureña (UNPHU) and the Law School held the debate: Is necessary constitutional reform?, analyzing the pre-project proposed by the Executive Power.
The activity was part of the Technical Table of Discussion of the Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences with the initiative to assess the point of view on several issues regarding the constitutional reform of the Dominican Republic.
During the debate, subjects such as constitutionalism, when is appropriate a constitutional reform, constitutional mutation, dogmatic and organic mutation. Similarly, they approached the democratic strengthening of democracy as a purpose of reform.
They approached the system’s weakness in performing the reform and the consensus required. Finally, a remark on the difficulties of the task and the three aspects that should be considered if it is ex temporary, non-necessary, and convenient also was addressed.
The debate was organized by the Board of Law Students CEDE-UNPHU and UNPHU Debates.
