Four students from Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU) secured second place in the ninth edition of the 2025 Popular Challenge, a national competition that aims to promote creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship among young university students across the country.
The team, consisting of Emily Arnaud (School of Medicine), Cristal Marie Gómez Urbaez (School of Marketing), Judith Santos (School of Interior Design), and Denzel Hilcias Peguero Delgado (School of Computer Systems Engineering), presented the proposal “CampusRide,” an innovative university carpooling solution that promotes shared, safe, and sustainable mobility by integrating technology with a high social impact approach.
During the competition, students engaged in a challenging training process that included workshops, specialized mentoring, and co-creation days, enhancing their entrepreneurial skills. They were also supported by the UNPHU Entrepreneurship Centre, which will continue to assist in developing their proposal.
